There are days that are really hard as an adult. I hate complaining about things like bills, cleaning, motherhood, and jobs when there is so much going on around the world, because I am really grateful for everything I have, but there are days where I am exhausted, and it’s hard to be a mom when I feel that way.
These are three things I do that help make a tough day better with my kids:
My kids love the radio! I rather listen to a podcast or one of my Tidal playlists, but they love pop music and they make me love it. Their versions of the songs are hilarious, because they kind of just say what they think the songs are saying. But I put the music up and they love to dance and sing and that always puts me in a better mood.
Kitchen Dance Party
You see a theme here? My kids love music and they also love to dance 🙂 If we haven’t had a kitchen dance party in a while, they definitely remind me that we need one. It’s nice to do this while we clean up, too. My 5 year old called me a ninja one day because we cleaned up all of their toys with music on and they didn’t even realize they were doing it.
This is my favorite 🙂 I have the boys each pick two books and I pick two as well and we get blankets and pillows, sit on the bed or couch and just read. We also bring snacks and sippy cups into the mix so we don’t have to get up!
If you have any others, please share! I love hearing from other moms what they do to keep sane 🙂
