My husband likes to make fun of me because I like to buy organic things. And that’s fine. He could make fun of me all he wants. I’m not an extremist when it comes to organic things, but I like to do it as much as I can. I am trying to have it spill over to the beauty products I use, here are three ways that I have started:
I use coconut oil for everything. I’m using it now as a lotion, hair conditioner, and an eye make up remover! The best thing about it, is it is much cheaper than a lot of lotions and other beauty products, and best of all, it’s natural. The best part for me is it feels so good on your skin and you smell, well, like a coconut, which smells really good!
If you look at the ingredients in the soaps you use on a daily basis, you will see all of the chemicals that are in it. So many words of ingredients that you cannot pronounce, and you just KNOW that they can’t be good for you. But there are many soaps that are home made (you can make them yourself if you are that crafty) or buy them online or at a health food store.
I’m currently using Belize in You, which is made of seaweed, shea butter, water, and castor oil. All natural products that are good for your skin as well as your system as a whole.
But I must say, a lot of these natural soaps, not all, but a lot, are made by entrepreneurs, or go to a good cause. Purchasing Belize in You goes toward funding the very first hospice center in Belize.
Masks and Scrubs
I am no Martha Stewart, but I have been making coffee scrubs for my body at home. They are super easy and I can make them with stuff I already have, so why not. I save money and my skin feels much softer, plus, if I make it myself with just coffee, organic sugar, and coconut oil, then I know there’s no strange stuff in it!
Also, I’ve been using Bentonite Clay for my face, which is good to control my oily skin, especially in the summer.
This is where I’ve been getting my ideas from lately.
